The Federal Housing Administration (FHA) requires that manufactured homes have a permanent foundation that meets certain standards in order to be eligible for financing. To demonstrate that a manufactured home’s foundation is in compliance with the FHA’s Permanent Foundations Guide, the following documentation is typically required:
- A site plan that shows the location of the home on the property and the dimensions of the foundation.
- A plot plan that shows the location of the home in relation to the property boundaries and any structures or easements on the property.
- A floor plan of the manufactured home, including the dimensions of the rooms and the location of any doors, windows, and other openings.
- A soil report that details the composition and bearing capacity of the soil on which the foundation is built.
- A foundation plan that shows the dimensions and design of the foundation, including any reinforcement or support elements.
In addition to these documents, the FHA may also require a certification from a professional engineer or architect stating that the foundation meets the requirements of the Permanent Foundations Guide. This certification should include the engineer or architect’s seal and signature and should be submitted along with the other required documentation.
