California’s RSOs, or Space Rent Stabilization Ordinances, should not be confused with rent control for home and apartment renters. These laws, which apply only to mobile and manufactured home park residents, are distinct from the rules that govern rent for homes and apartments and are typically not interchangeable.

In Alameda County, CA, there are approximately 367 mobile home parks that may be subject to the Alameda County Mobile Home Park Rent Stabilization Ordinance No. 90-71, which specifies that the owner(s) of a mobile home park located in Alameda County has the option to an automatic 5% maximum annual increase in lot rent.
